On the subject of Mr. Kerlikowske;
My mother was diagnosed with advanced colon cancer a few years back, and underwent a harsh and rigorous chemotherapy. As the days went on, her sense of hunger degraded severely until she lost all sense of it. Having an appetite is a basic sign of life and vigor, and it made my family fear for her. Luckily for her, her boyfriend happened to have an illegal source of marijuana, and finally coaxed her into giving it a try. Now, I’m not saying its a cure-all and was immediately responsible for my mother’s continued strength in the ordeal, but did it help? Indeed, it gave her an appetite and with it came not only concrete strength in the form of calories, but also mental well-being. So is marijuana always harmful?
Why do the Czars not have to answer to anyone but heat czar. That seems a little unAmerican to me.
[...] Well, that’s just not fair focusing on a nut job. What about the rest of them? Here’s the list via Free Market Mojo: [...]
Who pays for all these czars?
What is their compensation?
How can we afford them without oversight?
The government is grabbing power and this sounds like Germany in the 1930′s (control education, finance, health care, industry)!
don’t let the door hit you in the azz Van Jones, Who’s next? Lets skip all of these czars and go straight for Obama!
When listening to the news last week on a local radio station a caller the question “How much do the Czars receive and the answer was $100,000.00 per year, the starting pay. Don’t know the validity but… Gee, $100,000.00 plus perks, insurance and whatever the government people get who are employed by Obama equals a pretty sweet deal.
1 how much do the current czar’s earn?
2 what other benifits are the entitled to?
3 do they have a staff? and if so, how much do they earn?
Often, one of the perks of (especially unelected) a government office is that a retirement package kicks in the day the office is filled. Could Van Jones already qualify for a lifelong retirement package in addition to the $100,000 salary? Will his salary still be paid in full for the year? How many days per week/month/year are these Czars required to commit to the job? Where are their offices located? How many of them “work from home”?
[...] new position is another in a long line of “Czars” to be appointed under the Obama administration, including, to name a few: a Drug Czar, a Faith-based Czar, an Urban [...]
